Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, SMIEEE, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), where he also serves as the Dean of the BUBT Research Graduate School and the Chief IT Officer (CITO). He previously served as Chairperson of the Department of CSE and Director of the Permanent Campus at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), where he played a pivotal role in academic governance, infrastructure development, accreditation readiness, and strategic planning. He is a senior academic, researcher, industry expert, and IT management leader with over 17 years of combined experience in higher education, research, industry, and institutional administration.

Dr. Rahaman has completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in CSE from Islamic University, Kustia, Bangladesh, and he holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Dhaka, with a specialization in computer vision-based Bangla Sign Language recognition. His research interests include AI and machine learning, computer vision, image processing, medical imaging, pattern recognition, Bangla NLP, HCI, robotics, and software engineering. He has published extensively in high-impact, Q1, SCIE-indexed, and Scopus-indexed journals, as well as at IEEE conferences from prominent publishers such as Springer, Elsevier, Nature, and IEEE. He has secured and led numerous funded research grants and has received multiple prestigious awards, including Research Excellence, Outstanding Research, and Best Paper awards. He has successfully supervised a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate theses and projects, many of which have received national recognition.

A strong proponent of quality assurance and Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), Dr. Rahaman has played key roles in curriculum development for emerging programs in AI and data science, robotics, cybersecurity, and software engineering.

As a Senior Member of IEEE and an active leader within the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter, he has served in numerous national and international conference leadership roles, editorial boards, and peer-review panels, and has been repeatedly recognized for excellence in student mentorship and professional service.
